最近看了爱因斯坦的 What I believe 。

在这份1930 年扫描件上，我们可以看到，爱因斯坦引用叔本华 (Schopenhauer) 的话说，

A man can surely do what he wills to do, but he cannot determine what he wills

然而百度找到的原文却是：

A man can do what he wants, but not want what he wants

是谁做了这个更改？我们看到 95 年美国翻译出版的 Ideas And Opinions 里也是第二种说法。

可是，爱因斯坦与 1955 年去世。这份 40 年后出版的新翻译更能代表他的想法吗？爱因斯坦的原文究竟是什么呢？是德语的吗？
